Synopsis:

The NBC crime series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit delves into the dark side of the New York underworld as the detectives of a new elite force investigate and prosecute various sexually-oriented crimes including rape, pedophilia, and domestic violence. The series also touches upon political and societal issues associated with gender identity, sexual preferences, and equality rights. In March 2009, some 200 cast and crew of the show converged on the UN Headquarters to film scenes for an episode entitled “Hell”, which addressed issues of child soldiers and refugees. It was the first time the UN was used as a setting for a major network television production. The episode was seen by 9.5 million viewers.

CCOI’s Role:

CCOI facilitated on-location filming at UN Headquarters in New York and coordinated the related legal and logistical arrangements.
