Chance of a Lifetime features four teams of young documentary filmmakers from India, Singapore, and the UAE, who compete against each other in a series of challenges focused on producing the best short film showcasing the UN’s priority global causes. The winning team flew to New York City, where its final 10-minute short film was screened at the UN Headquarters, after which they received special recognition from the Variety Magazine during the Festival de Cannes. Developed in partnership with Variety, the UN Foundation and the UCLA Burkle Global Impact Initiative, the series premiered on Participants Media’s cable Pivot TV, followed by other international markets.
CCOI collaborated with the other partners in the development of the series, produced briefing materials on global issues for the filmmakers and provided them with access to relevant UN experts. CCOI also coordinated legal and logistical arrangements for filming of the screening event at UN Headquarters and the negotiation of a legal agreement between the UN and Hyde Park Entertainment.
Filming was done in the General Assembly Hall, the Dag Hammarskjöld Auditorium and the Visitors Plaza.
