Participation of National Human Rights Institutions

The Ad Hoc Committee on a Comprehensive and Integral International Convention on Protection and Promotion of the Rights and Dignity of Persons with Disabilities will hold its eighth session at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 14 to 25 August 2006. In this connection, it may be recalled that the Ad Hoc Committee, at its first session, decided to "extend an invitation to National Human Rights institutions to participate in its future sessions" (para. 11 of A/57/357).

Institutions interested in participating, need to provide to the United Nations Secretariat the names of the:

• National Human Rights Institution
• Representatives that will participate in the seventh session of the Ad Hoc Committee
• Number of persons with disabilities participating, details of disability and accessibility requirements
• Fill out the attached Application for Ground Passes form SSS.35 - MS Word

To provide for the timely registration and issuance of UN grounds passes, it would be greatly appreciated if this information is communicated as soon as possible to:
