IMPORTANT NOTICE TO SUPPLIERS WITH CONTRACTS
CONTAINING SMALL BALANCES OF UNDELIVERED GOODS
10 October 2003
The Office of the Iraq Programme (OIP) has been conducting review
of its files and has found a number of approved and funded contracts
that appear to be over 95 per cent delivered i.e. have very small
outstanding balances to be delivered to Iraq, according to the OIP
database. Such contracts are listed in the attached
table. It is likely that in most of these cases the
goods have been either fully delivered or shipment of the remaining
balances is not a feasible option.
Only if your contract is listed in the
attached table and you would be interested in shipping the
remaining small balance, please send an e-mail to the following
address mocibob@un.org ,stating
your readiness to ship the remaining goods and your contact details
(e-mail, fax, phone). Please also include a list of outstanding
goods. Your response is not a guarantee that your contract will be
prioritized, as all responses will be further reviewed by the United
Nations, in consultation with the Authority in Iraq, in view of the
existing needs in Iraq and may be considered for prioritization
under paragraph 16 of resolution 1483 (2003). However, due to the
imminent closure of the Programme, your e-mails must be received as
soon as possible but not later than Saturday, 18 October 2003,
midnight NYC time. Any e-mails received after that date will be
disregarded.
IMPORTANT: If you consider all the goods under any of these
contracts fully delivered or you are otherwise uninterested in
shipping the remaining goods, please DO NOT send any messages
to the e-mail indicated above. Similarly, please DO NOT send
any other messages concerning prioritization of contracts or any
other issues related to the Office of Iraq Programme to the e-mail
address above as they will be disregarded and no action will be
taken on them.
The
Office of the Iraq Programme regrets that it is not in a position to
accept any direct queries from suppliers at this stage. All queries
related to implementation of resolution 1472 (2003) should be
directed through the relevant permanent
mission.
The suppliers and permanent missions are also advised to
periodically check the Office of the Iraq Programme web-site www.un.org/Depts/oip
for further updates.
