Climate change is profoundly pressuring health, food and water security, and socioeconomic development in Africa, according to a new report. In 2019, the continent experienced one of the most destructive cyclones ever. Drought-prone countries have seen the number of undernourished people rise by 45.6 per cent since 2012, and further warming could shrink GDP by up to 12 per cent.
