This is a compilation of 25 years of work of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women in monitoring the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women in States parties between 1983* and 2007.

This compilation of the Committee’s work is organized alphabetically by country, and in chronological order. It also contains the text of the Convention and the Optional Protocol, as well as the 25 general recommendations issued on articles of the Convention or cross-cutting themes, and its 1998 statement on reservations.

Other aspects of the Committee’s work, such as statements issued in conjunction with world conferences, or on particular topics, as well its work under the Optional Protocol, are not included.

* During its first session (18 to 22 October 1982), the Committee did not consider the reports of States parties; it elected a Chairperson and other officers and adopted its rules of procedure.
