The UN, the AU, the ECCAS, the EU and the IOF welcome the final results of the second round of the presidential elections in the Central African Republic announced by the Transitional Constitutional Court on 1 March 2016 which were conducted peacefully with the active participation of the Central African people.
They congratulate the President-elect, Mr. Faustin-Archange Touadéra, and express their support for his determination to further the efforts to promote dialogue and national reconciliation.
The UN, the AU, the ECCAS, the EU and the IOF also pay tribute to Anicet-Georges Dologuélé and to the Central African people, who have demonstrated their commitment to efforts to find durable solutions in support of peace, reconciliation, and economic and social development in the Central African Republic.
They welcome the essential role played by the Transitional Authority in support of a return to peace. They reiterate their commitment to continue efforts to support the completion of the transition, including through the holding of the second round of legislative elections. The organizations recall that the people of the Central African Republic have high expectations that the completion of the transition will bring real change. They underline that the new authorities of the Central African Republic have an important opportunity and a responsibility to ensure further progress toward peace and security, justice and reconciliation, and social cohesion, as well as reconstruction and development.
The international community will continue to lend its support to the efforts of the new Central African Republic authorities through a responsible partnership.

L’ONU, l’UA, la CEEAC, l’UE et l’OIF saluent la proclamation des résultats définitifs du second tour de l’élection présidentielle du 14 février 2016 en République centrafricaine annoncés par la Cour Constitutionnelle de Transition, le 1er mars 2016 et dont le scrutin s’est déroulé avec la participation active de la population centrafricaine, dans un climat apaisé.
EIles félicitent le président élu M. Faustin-Archange Touadéra et le soutiennent dans sa détermination à continuer d’œuvrer à la promotion du dialogue et la réconciliation nationale.
Elles saluent également M. Anicet-Georges Dologuélé et les forces vives du pays qui ont démontré leur engagement à jouer un rôle dans la recherche de solutions durables pour la paix, la réconciliation, le développement économique et social de la République centrafricaine.
L’ONU, l’UA, la CEEAC, l’UE et l’OIF saluent le rôle essentiel joué par les autorités de transition pour le retour de la paix en Centrafrique et réitèrent leur engagement à continuer à accompagner la fin de la transition avec notamment la tenue du deuxième tour des élections législatives. Elles rappellent que les attentes du peuple centrafricain pour un réel changement à la fin du processus de transition politique sont élevées. Elles soulignent que les nouvelles autorités de la République centrafricaine ont une opportunité et une responsabilité importantes pour que progressent la paix et la sécurité, la réconciliation et la justice, la cohésion sociale, ainsi que la reconstruction et le développement.
La communauté internationale continuera à apporter son appui aux efforts des nouvelles autorités Centrafricaines dans le cadre d’un partenariat responsable.
