On the occasion of the presidential and legislative elections, which will mark the end of the transition period in Burkina Faso, the Secretary-General calls on all national stakeholders to uphold their commitments throughout the process. He calls on them to ensure that the polls are conducted in a peaceful and transparent manner that respects the will of the people of Burkina Faso. He further calls on them to resolve disputes that may arise from the electoral process through established legal channels.

The Secretary-General reiterates the commitment of the United Nations to support the efforts of the democratically-elected authorities of Burkina Faso to consolidate peace and stability and to advance democratic governance.

A l'occasion des élections présidentielles et législatives qui marqueront la fin de la période de transition au Burkina Faso, le Secrétaire général appelle tous les acteurs nationaux concernés à respecter leurs engagements tout au long du processus électoral. Il les appelle à garantir que les élections se déroulent de manière pacifique et transparente respectant la volonté du peuple du Burkina Faso. Le Secrétaire général les appelle également à résoudre tout contentieux qui pourrait découler du processus électoral à travers les canaux légaux établis.

Le Secrétaire général réaffirme l’engagement des Nations Unies à soutenir les efforts des autorités démocratiquement élues du Burkina Faso pour consolider la paix et la stabilité et pour faire progresser la gouvernance démocratique.
