The Secretary-General welcomes the news of the meetings between President Filipe Nyusi and Renamo leader Afonso Dhlakama held in Maputo on 7 and 9 February. He takes note of the progress made in the talks and congratulates both leaders for their commitment to dialogue. He hopes the meetings would pave the way for the peaceful resolution of outstanding issues in respect of the constitutional framework and the work of the National Assembly. The Secretary-General reiterates the commitment of the United Nations to support Mozambique as it endeavours to promote development, strong democratic institutions as well as sustainable peace and stability.

O Secretário-Geral saúda a notícia dos encontros entre o Presidente Filipe Nyusi e líder da Renamo, Afonso Dhlakama realizados em Maputo, em 7 e 9 de fevereiro. Ele toma nota do progresso alcançado e parabeniza os dois líderes por seu compromisso com o diálogo. Ele espera que estes encontros irão consolidar o caminho para a resolução pacífica das questões pendentes na agenda do diálogo, em respeito ao quadro constitucional, e o trabalho da Assembleia da República . O Secretário-Geral reitera o compromisso das Nações Unidas para apoiar Moçambique em seu caminho rumo ao desenvolvimento, ao fortalecimento das instituições democráticas, à paz sustentável e à estabilidade.
