The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Laurent Fabius, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Development of France, in the margins of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, in the United Arab Emirates.

They discussed a range of issues relating to the climate change process, as well as the next steps to be taken to ensure the implementation of the Paris Agreement.

The Secretary-General and the Foreign Minister also exchanged views on developments in Syria and Yemen, including the tragic situation in a number of besieged areas. The Secretary-General stressed the importance of continued constructive engagement of regional actors and the international community to invigorate the political processes in the two countries.
