The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Christian Paradis, Minister for International Development of Canada, on the margins of the World Economic Forum.

The Secretary-General welcomed Canada's leadership in maternal, newborn and child health, and its strong engagement in shaping the post-2015 development agenda. He also called for their continued support in having a solid means of implementation.

On climate change, he encouraged Canada to continue playing an important and constructive role in the negotiations leading up to the Paris conference in December.
