The Secretary-General met today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, H.E. Mr. Edgars Rinkevics.

During the meeting, they discussed the conflict in Ukraine, including the critical need for full implementation of the Minsk Protocol and Memorandum toward the restoration of stability and lasting peace in Ukraine.

They also discussed the need for a full political solution to the conflict in Syria, the humanitarian situation Iraq, and the threat posed by ISIL.

The Secretary-General and the Foreign Minister exchanged views on the Ebola outbreak and the Secretary-General requested Latvia’s sustained support.
