Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with Hon. Justine Greening MP, Secretary of State for International Development of the United Kingdom

The Secretary-General met today on the margins of the annual World Bank Group-IMF meetings in Washington with the UK Secretary of State for International Development, Justine Greening.

He thanked the UK for its response to the Ebola epidemic and its deployment of key assets in West Africa to help in the response to Ebola.

The Secretary-General also discussed the effort to develop sustainable development goals in the period after 2015. He stressed the need to have ambitious targets that can be implemented.

They also discussed the need to have diverse sources of funds for the world's development and humanitarian needs.
