Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Miroslav Lajcák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia

The Secretary-General met today with Mr. Miroslav Lajcák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia.

They discussed the recent developments in Ukraine and emphasized the need for constructive dialogue among all concerned. They also exchanged views on the situation in Syria.

The Secretary-General and Mr. Lajcák underscored the importance of the ongoing efforts to craft the post-2015 development agenda, and discussed issues related to climate change.

The Secretary-General also expressed his appreciation for Slovakia’s leading role in shaping discussions on the Security Sector Reform in the United Nations.
