The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Eladio Loizaga Lezcano, Minister of External relations of Paraguay.

The Secretary-General and the Foreign Minister discussed sustainable development and the post-2015 development agenda. They also talked about the issue of health as part of this agenda and the necessity to invest in health.

Regarding climate change, the Secretary-Secretary said he hoped the President of Paraguay would attend the summit he is convening in New York in September. He also noted the important role of Latin American countries in the forthcoming discussions and negotiations on climate change.
