The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Moncef Marzouki, President of Tunisia.

The Secretary-General once again congratulated the President and the people of Tunisia on the adoption of a new Constitution. He also noted the upcoming elections in the country. He said the United Nations was ready to provide assistance for these elections and to support Tunisia towards a full democratic transition. The Secretary-General and the President of Tunisia also discussed the economic and social situation in the country.

Finally, they exchanged views on the situation in Libya.

Le Secrétaire général s'est entretenu aujourd'hui avec S.E. M. Moncef Marzouki, Président de la Tunisie.

Le Secrétaire général a félicite à nouveau le Président et le peuple de Tunisie pour l'adoption de sa nouvelle constitution. Il a également pris note des élections qui se tiendront prochainement dans le pays. Il a indiqué que l'ONU était prête à fournir son assistance pour la tenue de ces élections et à soutenir la Tunisie sur la voie d'une transition démocratique complète. Le Secrétaire général et le Président de la Tunisie ont également discuté de la situation économique et sociale dans le pays.

Enfin, ils on aussi discute de  la situation en Libye.
