The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Raúl Castro Ruz, President of Cuba. They discussed Cuba’s role as chair of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), the Post-2015 development agenda and Cuba’s strong progress in achieving the Millennium Development Goals, climate change, Cuba’s constructive role as host of the Colombia peace talks and Cuba’s ongoing efforts in Haiti.

They also addressed the impact of the US embargo on Cuba as well as human rights.
