Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with H.E. Ms. Erna Solberg, Prime Minister of Norway

The Secretary-General met today in Davos with H.E. Ms. Erna Solberg, the Prime Minister of Norway, on the margins of the World Economic Forum. The Secretary-General thanked the Prime Minister for agreeing to co-chair the MDG Advocacy Group. They discussed the imperative to accelerate the Millennium Development Goals in the remaining 700 days and the opportunities for doing so.

They also discussed efforts to resolve the crisis in Syria and to end the violence. They exchanged views on recent developments in the Middle East Peace Process. They also discussed the work on formulating a post-2015 development framework and reaching a global climate agreement, and saw them as mutually reinforcing priorities.
