Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister

The Secretary-General met today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, H.E. Wang Yi, the day after the international conference on Syria.

They discussed the situation in Syria, agreeing on the need to reach a political solution to the crisis and increase humanitarian assistance for Syrians. The Secretary-General expressed his appreciation for China’s constructive role in supporting the political process, its contributions to humanitarian assistance and efforts to destroy chemical weapons in Syria.

They also discussed developments in Northeast Asia.
