The Secretary-General met today in Kuwait City with the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati, in the margins of the Second International Humanitarian Pledging Conference on Syria.

They Secretary-General thanked the Prime Minister for the country's generosity in hosting the largest number of Syrian refugees. They discussed support for neighbouring countries that are affected by the Syrian crisis as well as the Geneva Conference on Syria, to be held next week.

They stressed the close cooperation between the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and the Lebanese Armed Forces. The Secretary-General also welcomed the start, tomorrow, of the trial of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL).
