Readout of the Secretary-General telephone calls to the President and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh

The Secretary-General has spoken by phone with the President and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh to express his strong concern about the prevailing situation in the country, particularly the widespread violence that has left dozens of people dead since last month.  The Secretary-General urged the Prime Minister to resolve differences over the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for January through dialogue.
