Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with the President of Kazakhstan

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Secretary-General commended Kazakhstan’s long-standing constructive cooperation with the United Nations and the role it plays internationally regarding nuclear non-proliferation and religious tolerance. The Secretary-General and the President also discussed the situation in Syria and the importance of the role of the United Nations, Afghanistan and regional cooperation on water management.
