The Joint Special Representative for Syria, Mr. Lakhdar Brahimi, welcomes the bilateral discussions on the Syrian crisis which are going to be held between the Russian and the US delegations in The Hague shortly. Mr Brahimi will not participate in this meeting.

Mr. Brahimi is in constant contact with both the Russian and the US authorities. Another meeting to further preparations of the "Geneva II" conference might be held in the near future but its date and place have not yet been set.

Le Représentant spécial conjoint pour la Syrie, M. Lakhdar Brahimi, se félicite des discussions bilatérales sur la crise syrienne qui vont avoir lieu bientôt entre les délégations de la Fédération de Russie et les Etats-Unis à la Haye.  M. Brahimi ne participera pas à cette réunion.

M. Brahimi est en contact constant avec les autorités de la Fédération de Russie et des Etats-Unis.  Une autre réunion pour avancer dans les préparatifs de la conférence dite «Genève II» pourrait avoir lieu dans un avenir proche mais la date et le lieu n'ont pas encore été fixés.
