The Secretary-General met today with the President of Zambia, H.E. Mr. Michael Chilufya Sata.

They discussed the situation in the Great Lakes region and in particular progress towards implementation of the Peace, Security and Cooperation Framework in the DRC and the region, led by Special Envoy Mary Robinson. They also discussed the human and political rights situation in Zambia as well as its efforts to realize the Millennium Development Goals.
