The Secretary-General met today with H.R.H. Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Bahrain, on the margins of the Pledging Conference on Syria.

The Secretary-General welcomed Bahrain's efforts to promote an all-inclusive dialogue, good governance, human rights and reforms.  He noted that the UN stands ready to assist in this regard.

On Syria, the Secretary-General and his interlocutor discussed the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Syria and emphasized the need to ensure that humanitarian assistance reaches the many Syrians in need.
