The Secretary-General met yesterday with H.E. Mr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, and discussed the situation in the Great Lakes region.

The Secretary-General congratulated President Kagame for the election of Rwanda as non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2013 and 2014.
