The Secretary-General reiterated his strong support for the Palestinian people in a meeting today with Palestinian President H.E. Mr. Mahmoud Abbas.

The Secretary-General and President Abbas discussed the need for renewed momentum on the peace process. The Secretary-General expressed his commitment to assist the Palestinians and Israelis achieve a two-state solution to end a conflict that has gone on for far too long. They also discussed ways to strengthen the Palestinian Authority financially.
