The Secretary-General met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya, H.E. Mr. Raila Odinga, today.

They discussed the preparations for the 2013 general elections in Kenya as well as the need to ensure peaceful and violence-free elections in Kenya.

The Secretary-General thanked the Prime Minister for Kenya’s critical contribution to the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM). He also expressed appreciation for Kenya’s generous hosting of refugees.

They also discussed the promotion of sustainable energy.
