The Secretary-General met H.E. Baroness Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission. During their meeting, they discussed the situation in Iran and the E3+3 talks on Iran’s nuclear programme. They also discussed tension between Sudan and South Sudan, the recent testing of a missile in DPRK as well as the coup in Guinea-Bissau. The Secretary-General briefed Baroness Ashton about his conversations with regional leaders in West Africa regarding Guinea-Bissau and Mali.
