The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Mariano Rajoy Brey, the Prime Minister of Spain, on the margins of the Seoul Nuclear Security Summit today.
The Secretary-General thanked the Prime Minister for Spain's support for and contribution to the work of the United Nations.
The two leaders discussed the global economic crisis and its impact on the work of the United Nations and Member States.
They also discussed the UN Alliance of Civilizations initiative and this June's Rio+20 UN sustainable development conference. The Secretary-General thanked the Prime Minister for advising him that he would attend the conference.
