The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, the President of Somalia, on the margins of the London Conference on Somalia today.

The Secretary-General commended the President for his commitment to the peace process. He urged the President to resolve outstanding differences with other Somali stakeholders quickly. He said it was crucial to complete key tasks under the Roadmap.

He said the London Conference was a strong signal of international support for Somalia.

The Secretary-General also met with a range of other Somali actors, including the Prime Minister.
