Today, the Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Sergey Lavrov, the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation. With regard to the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine, the Secretary-General expressed his expectation that all concerned parties would live up to their commitments as agreed in Minsk on 12 February, particularly following the unanimous adoption of Security Council Resolution 2202.

The Secretary-General and the Foreign Minister also discussed the situations in Libya and Yemen, as well as the need for a comprehensive international response to the fight against ISIL.

The Secretary-General and the Foreign Minister exchanged views on Syria and compared notes on the implementation of Security Council Resolution 2199.
