The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Mohamed Beji Caid Essebsi, President of the Republic of Tunisia.

The Secretary-General commended the spirit of consensus and cooperation of political forces in the aftermath of presidential elections and reiterated the readiness of the United Nations to support the transitional process. They discussed the internal economic and security situation in Tunisia.

The Secretary-General commended the assistance of Tunisia to the United Nations Mission in Libya. They also discussed the situation in Libya and encouraged the promotion of dialogue between Libyan actors.
