Securing Africa’s FfD Priorities in Addis and Beyond: Mechanisms and Pathways

Summary
The main objective of the side event is to share proposals of securing and delivering Africa’s FfD priorities both at the Addis conference and beyond. Up to 80 participants are expected. These will be drawn from African policy makers, private sector, African CSOs. Panellists will be drawn from African Union Commission, Africa Group of negotiators in New York, WB/IMF, ECA, Africa CSO Working Group on post 2015, Min of Finance Cameroon, Government of Kenya, Permanent Mission of Tanzania to the UN, among others.
Key issues for discussion include, among others;
• Proposals on how Africa should secure its FfD priorities in Addis and finance its development beyond the Conference
• Link between SDGs, FfD, and Agenda 2063 and implication for financing Africa development
• How can Africa leverage infrastructure investments to address its priority issues in both SDGs and FFD?
• What role should other stakeholders in (private sector, civil society, etc) play in realizing Africa’s FfD priorities beyond Addis Ababa Conference?
The meeting is organized by the Africa CSO Working Group on post 2015 and co-hosted by select African Permanent Missions to UN and African governments (TBC).
