Summary
In this session, world leaders and business executives will unveil major commitments to accelerate social, economic and environmental growth across emerging and frontier markets. These transformative platforms and partnerships will deliver billions and potentially trillions of dollars towards real, rapid and impactful change.
With the SDGs to be agreed in September and the COP21/CMP11 climate negotiations in December, this historic event will use concrete examples to demonstrate how diverse and progressive leaders are committing to public-private partnerships as a 21st century solution to finance sustainable development. It will be highly interactive and include networking opportunities between public stakeholders and private capital providers.
Hosted in collaboration with the World Economic Forum, this ministerial- and executive-level event will include representatives from financial and investor institutions, corporations, governments, development agencies, development finance institutions and civil society.
Two major public-private initiatives will be launched: the Sustainable Development Investment Partnership (SDIP), a global partnership that provides practical solutions to unlock private capital for financing sustainable infrastructure and other development needs; and the Global Finance Exchange (GFX), a virtual marketplace platform for sharing deals, information and capacity building resources that facilitate and increase Blended Finance capital flows to developing countries.
