Partnering for innovative solutions for sustainable development

Forging a new path for development: With Partners

The joint thematic debate/ forum on partnerships, hosted by the President of the General Assembly and the President of the Economic and Social Council, will focus on ways in which partnerships can accelerate the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals and support the Post-2015 Development Agenda.

The event will bring together leading public and private sector leaders, philanthropists, prominent civil society actors and academia representatives from across the globe to generate ideas and action-oriented solutions on ways in which multi-stakeholder partnerships can contribute to the implementation of the Post-2015 Development Agenda. Three interactive, multi-stakeholder panel discussions and two partnership sessions will take place over the two days. The panel discussions will address key lessons learned since the signing of the Millennium declaration in 2000, stimulate continued collaboration with businesses, civil society and other actors beyond the year 2015, and consider ways for a more effective framework for monitoring the implementation of global development goals. The partnership sessions will focus on ways that multi-stakeholder partnerships can promote food and nutritional security and marine resources, and scale up partnership opportunities in sustainable infrastructure.

A reception hosted by the President of ECOSOC and sponsored by Capgemini, will be held to which all participants are invited following the conclusion of the event from 6:15 PM to 8 PM in the Delegates' Dining Room of the United Nations.

Non-UN Guests: Registration is required and attendance is by invitation only. As seating is limited and registration will be closed once room capacity is reached, guests are encouraged to register as soon as possible!
