Mohamed Fairooz is editor of Vidivelli, a Tamil-language national daily published by Express Newspapers, one of the largest media outlets in Sri Lanka. His work addresses minority rights, land disputes, discrimination and inter-religious and gender-based violence. He has also covered international crises, such as the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the Rohingya refugee crisis. At the United Nations, he is interested in covering human rights protections for minorities, with a focus on Sri Lanka, Palestine and Myanmar.
