Sohara Mehroze Shachi is a freelance journalist focusing on climate change and environmental issues. She started her journalism career with America's oldest college newspaper, The Yale Daily News, and has since published in various Bangladeshi and international outlets, including Inter Press Service, Thomson Reuters, Deutsche Welle and The Daily Star. Her reporting highlights the urgent climate finance needs of developing countries and the importance of undertaking mitigation and adaptation interventions to build the resilience of climate vulnerable populations. She is the recipient of the 2015 Climate Tracker Fellowship, the 2016 Asian Young Environmental Journalist of the Year Award and the 2017 Thomson Reuters Foundation, Uncovering security – emerging threats, reporting fellowship.
