The Committee on World Food Security (CFS) was established in 1974 as an intergovernmental body to serve as a forum in the United Nations System for review and follow-up of policies concerning world food security including production and physical and economic access to food.

Secretary-General’s High Level Task Force on Global Food and Nutrition Security
The HLTF was established by the United Nations Secretary General Ban-Ki-moon in 2008. The primary aim of the Task Force is to promote a comprehensive and unified response of the international community to the challenge of achieving global food and nutrition security.
