Beginning July 19, the UN Youth Envoy Ahmad Alhendawi will be travelling to Nairobi, Kenya to take part in the UNCTAD Youth Forum (July 19-22). The Youth Forum comes within the context of the UNCTAD 14 conference that is taking place from July 17-22 and gathering world leaders from the public and private sectors, academia and NGOs to agree on concrete steps for UNCTAD to take in support of the 2030 Agenda.

On July 20, Ahmad Alhendawi will deliver opening remarks at the side event “Addressing youth unemployment: Innovate Africa – How do we initiate it and sustain it? What role does technology play?” He will then address the conference during the high-level Ministerial segment of the Forum on July 21.

The UNCTAD Youth Forum serves as a discussion platform to hear the views and ideas of youth on education, jobs and government accountability – topics that are of great concern to the Millennials’ generation. It will be a great opportunity for youth to share their views with global leaders.
