International Youth Day Event in the Philippines (#YouthDay)

The Envoy will attend and speak at the main UNCT-Led celebration of the #YouthDay in Manila. 

Global Forum on youth, Peace and Security
21-22 August| Jordan
Hosted by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, OSGEY supports the co-convening of the Global Forum on Youth, Peace and Security together with UNDP, UNFPA, UNOY, SCG and PBSO.

Official Missions:

July 4-5 | Tunis and Sousse, Tunisia
The Youth Envoy will address young Tunisians at event organized in response to the recent terrorist attack in Sousse. The Envoy will share a message from the DSG to the participants and will deliver a commencement address at the Université Internationale de Tunis.

 July 13-16 | Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
OSGEY will attend the Third International Conference on Financing for Development. OSGEY will convene an official side event on July 15, 2015. The Envoy will speak at several side-events focusing on the importance of financing youth policies and programs.

July 17-20 | Kigali, Rwanda
OSGEY will undertake a joint mission with UN-Habitat to obtain hands-on information about the situation of young people of Rwanda. The visit will include meetings with the Minister of Youth and ICT and other Government representatives, representatives of the National Youth Council, and the UN Country Team as well as site-visits to youth projects.

July 21-23 | Kampala, Uganda
OSGEY will attend a Youth Hackathon to encourage innovative approaches in addressing young people’s sexual and reproductive health issues, at the invitation of UNFPA. The delegation is scheduled also to meet with the H.E. the President, the Minister of Youth and Sports, other Government officials and representatives of the National Youth Council. The Envoy will conduct site visits to UN projects supporting youth development in Uganda, including the UNICEF-led project “U Report”.

July 24 I Nairobi, Kenya
The Youth Envoy will deliver a featured address at the 6th Annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) at the invitation of the White House on behalf of H.E. President Barack Obama.

August 4-8 | Japan
The Youth Envoy will represent the Secretary-General at the 23rd World Scout Jamboree which will be attended by 30,000 scouts in Yamaguchi, Japan

August 9-12 | Philippines
The Youth Envoy will participate in launching the #Filipino2040 national crowd sourcing initiative on youth priorities and celebrating the International Youth Day with the young people of the Philippines in Manila. He will also conduct field visits to UN-supported projects on the ground in Zamboanga City. The visit will also include meetings with Filipino Government officials and representatives of youth organizations.

August 20-22 | Jordan
OSGEY will participate as a co-convener in the Global Forum on Youth, Peace and Security in Amman, Jordan.

August 24-28 | India
OSGEY will attend the 2015 AIESEC International Congress in Delhi followed by official visit that includes meetings with Government Officials, youth organizations of India and other UN partners (Details will follow).
