The United Nations Secretary General on Youth, Mr. Ahmad Alhendawi, visited Lehigh University, Pennsylvania, on the 12th of November, to join in their celebrations of a ten year successful partnership with the United Nations. The Lehigh University is the 6th university in the world to attain the United Nations Department of Public Information NGO Accreditation, and has paved opportunities for over thousands of Lehigh students, staff and faculty to be connected with the processes of the United Nations, through special programs such as the United Nations Youth Representatives.

During his visit, the Youth Envoy had a private meeting with Lehigh University’s top student leaders, and engaged in a very interactive discussion as to the importance of global citizenship, universal values and the importance of volunteerism.

Alhendawi also delivered a key note address on Leadership and the commitment of the United Nations for youth development to the Lehigh staff and students. The visit ended
with an informal discussion with the UN Youth Representatives regarding their programmes and aspirations.
