As part of an initiative to end extreme poverty by 2030, the Global Poverty Project is organising a free concert on 27 September in Central Park featuring Jay-Z, Carrie Underwood, The Roots, fun., Tiësto, and No Doubt.

The concert will coincide with the United Nations General Assembly, and is timed to take advantage of the opportunity to address leaders who will be gathered to address international social policy. This year, the focus of the initiative is on three key areas; vaccines, education for youth denied access to school, and the importance of sanitation in combating disease.

Tickets to attend the concert are earned by performing actions through the Global Citizen online platform, such as sharing educational materials with social networks or participating in the youth visual petition, #showyourselfie.
