THE HISTORICAL JOURNEY

 25 YEARS OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S CONFERENCES

 

The Department of Public Information invites you to a high-level panel on "The Historical Journey: 25 Years of International Women's Conferences", on 9 June, in Conference Room 3, United Nations Headquarters, from 3:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

A historical perspective on United Nations work for women will be given by Ms. Leticia Shahani, Secretary-General of the World Conference to Review and Appraise the Achievements of the United Nations Decade for Women: Equality, Development and Peace (Nairobi,1985), and Ms. Gertrude Mongella, Secretary-General of the Fourth World Conference on Women, Beijing, 1995.

The panel will be moderated by Ms. Therese Gastaut, Director of the DPI Public Affairs Division, who was Spokeswoman for the Nairobi and Beijing Conferences.
