The impact of the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action on the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals

In accordance with its multi-year programme of work, in 2010 the Commission on the Status of Women will review the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and the outcomes of the twenty-third special session of the General Assembly.  It will also review its contribution to shaping a gender perspective towards the full realization of the Millennium Development Goals.  In preparation for the session and to assist the Commission in its deliberations, the United Nations Division for the Advancement of Women will convene an Expert Group Meeting (EGM) on the link between the Platform for Action and the MDGs. The EGM will take place from 11 – 13 November 2009 in Geneva, Switzerland.
