Women Journalists – Experiences of Building Peace Communication in Post Conflict Countries

UNESCO is co-organizing an International seminar, “Women Journalists – Experiences of Building Peace Communication in Post Conflict Countries”, to be held at the Central House of Journalists, in Moscow, Russian Federation.

The seminar aims to collect and analyze international experiences of women journalists working in post conflict zones and to design an international strategy of peace communication, based on cooperation between media professionals and human rights NGOs. It will also seek to create a network of women journalists covering conflict and post conflict regions.

World Day of Social Justice

At its sixty-second session, in November 2007, the General Assembly of the United Nations proclaimed 20 February as World Day of Social Justice. The day is to be observed for the first time in 2009.

The observance of the day should contribute to the further consolidation of the efforts of the international community in poverty eradication, promotion of full employment and decent work, gender equity and access to social well-being and justice for all.
