Continuation of item 3: Effective measures to combat transnational organized crime
Summary:
The Executive Secretary of the Congress made an introductory statement presenting the draft report on Trends in Crime and Justice, prepared by the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) and UNODC and distributed to the meeting for discussion purposes. The Deputy-Director of UNICRI made an audiovisual presentation introducing the draft report. Statements were made by the representatives of Germany, Egypt, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Russian Federation, Philippines, Afghanistan, Japan, Turkey, Italy, Belgium, Finland, Kuwait and Algeria.
