On 19 September 1989, UTA flight 772 exploded over the Sahara Desert in southern Niger killing all 170 people on board. Guillaume’s father was on board this flight. In 2009, he founded and is currently the Executive Director of the Association Française des Victimes du Terrorisme (the French Association of Victims of Terrorism) that supports victims in healing, recognition and remembrance.
