The attacks against the country’s military headquarters and the French Embassy resulted in at least 16 deaths and scores of injuries, according to media reports. In a phone call that day to President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré, UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed solidarity with the country’s Government, according to a statement issued by his spokesperson. 24 February 2018 - Secretary-General Antonio Guterres strongly condemned the 23 February attacks in Mogadishu, Somalia, which claimed the lives of many civilians and injured numerous others. In a statement on Saturday, Mr. Guterres sent his “profound condolences to the families of the victims and to the people and Government of Somalia, and commends the response of the Somali security forces and AMISOM,” the African Union Mission to Somalia. 27 January 2018 – The United Nations Security Council has strongly condemned the “barbaric and cowardly terrorist attack” on 25 January against a bus transporting civilians near Boni, in central Mali, during which 26 people from Mali and Burkina Faso, including children, were killed. 18 December 2017 – Denouncing Monday’s attack on a Methodist church in western Pakistan, United Nations Secretary-General called for those behind the incident be held accountable.
