July 2019, Members and Observers of the Committee visited the Palestine Museum, established in 2018 in Woodbridge, Connecticut.<\/p>\n<p>The visit contributed to highlighting among UN diplomats the richness of Palestinian cultural and artistic achievements.<\/p>\n<p>The visit featured a lecture by Ms. Samia Halaby, a renowned Palestinian artist and scholar on the history of Palestinian painting and the impact of art on Palestinian society despite the Nakbah and the ongoing occupation.<\/p>\n<p>Delegates also enjoyed the performances by a Qanun player and a Dakbe Dance Troupe. \u00a0Janna Jihad, a thirteen-year-old Palestinian and the youngest officially registered journalist in the world, also spoke about the impact of occupation on children.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years, the Committee has showcased Palestinian cultural richness and Palestinian artists in music, film, and in other fields through cultural events.
